We’re looking for a Sales Intern to join our Outside Sales Team in the Edmonton Region. In this role, you’ll gain practical experience in construction sales by supporting customer engagement, project research, market development and territory initiatives. You’ll work alongside Regional Sales Managers and experienced sales professionals while connecting with contractors, engineers, distributors, owners and consultants across the construction industry. This is an opportunity to build valuable sales capabilities, receive dedicated mentorship and take ownership of meaningful project work that supports the sales organization.

What You’ll Build & Own

Support customer and project-related activities through participation in sales calls, jobsite visits, contractor meetings, distributor meetings and project reviews.
Research construction projects, accounts and market opportunities to help the sales team identify potential customers, stakeholders and recommended next steps.
Complete a strategic summer project that creates practical, reusable value for the sales organization.
Develop an analytics or data-quality project that improves visibility, consistency or decision-making for the sales team.
Build account and stakeholder insights by gathering market intelligence and learning how projects and purchasing decisions progress through the construction lifecycle.
Develop your technical and commercial knowledge of Victaulic markets, products, solutions, competitive methods and selling strategies.
Collaborate with sales leaders and experienced representatives to strengthen your customer communication, business development and territory-support skills.
Present your project findings, recommendations and key learnings to sales leadership at the conclusion of the internship.

What You Bring

Preparing to enter your final year of study, while pursuing a university or college degree, preferably in business administration, marketing, mechanical engineering, construction management, commerce, sports management, or a related discipline.
A strong interest in developing a career in sales, business development or the construction industry.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships and communicate confidently with different audiences.
Strong analytical, research and problem-solving abilities.
A proactive approach, willingness to learn and ability to take initiative in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
A collaborative mindset, professional demeanor and ability to work effectively with customers and internal team members.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Edmonton region during the internship.

What Sets You Apart

Academic experience or coursework related to sales, marketing, business development, engineering, construction management or data analytics.
Previous internship, co-op, customer service, retail, business development or other customer-facing experience.
An interest in technical solutions, construction projects, skilled trades, and relationship-based selling.
Strong presentation skills and confidence communicating ideas to leaders, customers and other stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership or involvement in student organizations, athletics, volunteer initiatives or team-based projects.
Curiosity, adaptability and enthusiasm for learning in both office and field environments.
Experience using CRM platforms, sales technology tools or data analytics software.
