The opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager, Operations, we are looking for an Operations Representative – Logistics, to support the physical movement of C4+ products throughout North America. With a primary focus on butane logistics, you will coordinate rail, truck, pipeline and transload activity and work across the business to keep product moving safely, efficiently and on time.
This is a hands-on operational role for someone who is organized, responsive and comfortable managing changing priorities. You will work closely with Marketing, Producer Services, Accounting, Risk, customers, suppliers, carriers and third-party facilities - connecting the details, solving issues and helping ensure commitments are met.
What you’ll be accountable for
Product Movement & Logistics Execution
- Coordinate physical product movements by rail, truck and pipeline.
- Order and schedule railcars, maintain shipping schedules, and monitor shipments through track and trace.
- Coordinate pipeline and rail nominations and other third-party scheduling requirements. Maintain shipping schedules and proactively coordinate activities to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
- Support transload and storage facility operations, including inventory monitoring and truck dispatching.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure transportation capacity aligns with production changes and customer requirements.
Inventory, Documentation & Reconciliation
- Maintain accurate inventory, transportation and operational records within internal systems.
- Ensure Bills of Lading and supporting documentation are received, distributed and entered accurately.
- Complete month-end balancing and support Accounting and Risk with operational reconciliations.
Commercial & Operational Optimization
- Monitor transportation performance and identify opportunities to reduce detention, demurrage and accessorial costs.
- Partner with Marketing to support supply, freight and transportation optimization.
- Anticipate issues, troubleshoot operational challenges and help find practical solutions that keep product moving.
Relationships & Team Support
- Maintain strong, responsive communication with customers, suppliers, carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Collaborate across Marketing, Logistics, Accounting, Risk and Producer Services to support strong operational execution.
- Participate in after-hours operational support as required.
What you bring
Communication: You communicate clearly and professionally, listen well, ask good questions, and keep the right people informed. You bring strong written and verbal communication skills.
Teamwork & Collaboration: You build strong working relationships and work effectively across teams, including Marketing, Logistics, Accounting, Risk and Producer Services.
Experience & Industry Knowledge: You bring 2–5 years of relevant experience in energy logistics, commodity operations, rail transportation, trucking, pipeline scheduling, NGLs, or a related field. Experience with NGLs, railcar fleets, transload operations, or pipeline nominations is an asset.
Problem Solving & Attention to Detail: You bring strong operational and analytical skills, use sound judgement to solve problems, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Organization & Technical Skills: You can manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced commercial environment and bring strong Microsoft Excel skills.
