The Rehabilitation Aide follows and implements rehabilitation and mobilization programs for residents as directed by a physiotherapist. They also provide instruction on exercise methods, maintain equipment, and document changes in resident functional and cognitive behavior.

The Rehabilitation Aide is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents through the strong leadership and motivation of Sienna team members.
As a Rehabilitation Aide your typical day will impact the following ways
Following the rehabilitation and mobilization program of residents as directed by the treating physiotherapist.
Incorporating rehabilitation routines into recreation programs as directed by Director of Resident Programming.
Providing teaching and demonstrating methods of proper rehabilitation and exercise to residents, families and team members.
Submitting assessments for annual Care Conferences or Individual Program Plan.
Maintaining an inventory of equipment, tools and supplies and report malfunctioning equipment and supply needs to the Director of Resident Programming.
Providing input into planning and evaluating rehabilitation / recreation programs by reporting observations and resident feedback to the Director of Resident Programming.
Reporting and recording any concerns or changes in the resident’s functional and cognitive behaviour to the direct care team.
Maintaining an attending roster for statistical purposes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must haves
Grade 12 graduate.
Recreation therapy or rehab aide degree/diploma is required.
Minimum 2 Years’ Experience In Long Term Care.
Valid First Aid Certificate including CPR-C.
All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants.
All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants.
Bonus Points for having
- Additional training in mobilization and rehabilitation.
Wage Leveling rate of pay $32.84 per hour until such time that wage leveling ends, then the pay rate will reflect the collective agreement pay rates.

Candidates must have a Grade 12 diploma and a degree or diploma in recreation therapy or rehab aide. A minimum of 2 years of experience in long-term care and a valid First Aid/CPR-C certificate are required.
