About This Opportunity
The in home hospice volunteer provides emotional support to those dealing with a life-limiting illness in their home. Volunteers provide emotional support through conversation, a quiet presence or shared activities. The volunteer offers a much needed break for the caregiver and performs duties such as light housekeeping, preparing refreshments or light meals, and other tasks requested by the client or caregiver. The volunteer respects the client's beliefs, values, and choices without judgement or influence. All volunteers must complete a 26 hour training course developed by Hospice Palliative Care Ontario.
