About This Opportunity
Thank you for your interest in joining the NSSRC team as a Program Support Volunteer! At NSSRC, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive support to survivors of stroke, helping them achieve their highest level of independence and well-being. As a Program Support Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the experience of our members during programs.
Some Responsibilities Include
- Extend a friendly hand in providing beverages to ensure everyone is comfortable.
- Guide conversations to foster connections among members, promoting support, comfort, and assistance (Supportive Communication Training provided)
- Facilitate and support activities as directed by our staff, such as crossword puzzles, card games, and assisting with therapies.
- Encourage engagement by identifying when physical assistance or verbal/nonverbal support is needed for members to participate fully.
- Work closely with manager, program coordinators, and therapists to ensure the smooth operation of programs.
NSSRC is a non-profit organization committed to supporting survivors of stroke beyond their hospital discharge. We provide a range of services, including exercise therapy, speech therapy, art therapy, music therapy, counseling, and educational programs. Our approach focuses on cognitive stimulation, physical exercise, and socialization to facilitate ongoing improvement in brain health and independence.
