As a key member of the Heavy Maintenance team, the Technical Support Manager, oversees the day-to-day operations of the technical support department ensuring that customer issues are resolved promptly and effectively and is the person responsible to actively take the lead in a team whose goal is to provide exceptional technical assistance and support to our MRO and our customers.
*Please note it's a 3-month contract role
Your responsibilities:
- Manages Technical Support and the activities of Technical Support Specialists within the organization.
- Leads, mentors, and motivates a team of technical support specialists to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Provide guidance and direction to team members, including setting performance expectations, conducting regular performance evaluation.
- Establishes and implements training and development programs for the team as needed.
- Develops, implements, and maintains the policies and goals for the Technical Support department to support the company's needs.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to support specialists, assisting with complex technical issues as needed.
- Evaluate existing support processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement the best practices for delivering technical support services, including incident management, problem resolution, and knowledge management.
- Provide ongoing communication with customers throughout the project life cycle.
- Monitor project costs and progress relating to the Technical Support aspects.
- Prepare and submit detailed damage reports to Original Equipment Manufacturers so that the issue is clearly and concisely identified and that an effective resolution is obtained in the most economical and efficient manner.
- Provide A.O.G. onsite/remote technical support assistance with the goal of restoring asset use to the Customer in the minimum time-frame possible.
- Represent the company and/or assist personnel representing the company to validate 3rd party maintenance/modifications for the customer, maintaining a communication link between the maintenance provider and customer.
- Conduct lease inspections and prepare reports on aircraft and/or aeronautical products
Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:
- Must be a certified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME-M, AME-E, or AME-S), or possess a technical diploma.
- Must have a minimum of 5–8 years of experience in the role of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME-M, AME-E, or AME-S).
- A Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T), Certified Technician (C. Tech), Engineer-in-Training (EIT), or Aerospace B. Eng may also be acceptable.
- A proficient understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance/repair processes, and the ability to interpret engineering documents, OEM manuals, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrates exceptional ability to deal effectively with customers in somewhat stressful circumstances.
- High degree of accuracy
- Strong analytical personality
- Good working knowledge with Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills
Eligibility:
You must be legally eligible to work for a Canadian company (e.g., be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or possess a valid work permit) and provide a clear Criminal Background Check.
