About the Opportunities

VS Consulting is currently supporting multiple clients in hiring Financial Analysts and Senior Financial Analysts to join their corporate Finance and FP&A teams.

We are hiring across multiple experience levels, from developing Financial Analysts looking to build stronger FP&A and business partnering capabilities to experienced Senior Financial Analysts who can independently support business leaders, analyze performance, and drive management reporting.

These positions are ideal for finance professionals who enjoy working at the intersection of financial analysis, business performance, reporting, and data analytics.

The successful candidates will work closely with Finance, Operations, and business leaders to understand financial performance, identify key drivers and trends, improve reporting, and translate financial and operational data into actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on experience and seniority, responsibilities may include:

• Support the FP&A and corporate performance management process, including monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Partner with business and operational stakeholders to understand performance, business drivers, risks, opportunities, and key KPIs.
• Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, prior periods, and business targets.
• Perform financial and operational analysis to identify trends, performance gaps, and underlying business drivers.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, management reports, and performance scorecards.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into meaningful financial and operational reporting.
• Use Excel and Power BI to perform detailed analysis and communicate findings clearly to Finance and business leadership.
• Work with financial and operational datasets from multiple systems and sources.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Use SQL where appropriate to retrieve, validate, or analyze data.
• Support month-end and management reporting processes.
• Help improve and automate existing reporting and analytical processes.
• Prepare management-level analysis and presentations explaining what happened, why it happened, and what management should pay attention to.
• Support ad hoc financial analysis and business cases as required.
  

What We're Looking For

We are looking for candidates who combine strong finance fundamentals with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

You should be comfortable working with numbers, but equally comfortable speaking with business stakeholders to understand what is actually driving the numbers.

Core Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Analytics, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in FP&A, financial analysis, management reporting, business performance, or corporate finance.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
• Strong and hands-on experience in Power BI is a must, including building or maintaining dashboards and reports.
• Good understanding of financial statements, KPIs, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ability to analyze large or imperfect datasets and identify meaningful trends and business insights.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to reconcile financial and operational information.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with finance and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with approximately 3–4 days per week in the office.
  

Nice to Have

• Working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience working with ERP, CRM, financial planning, or operational systems.
• Experience supporting Operations, Sales, Commercial, or other business functions within an FP&A environment.
• Experience improving or automating recurring management reporting.
• CPA designation, CPA candidacy, CFA, or other relevant professional qualification is an asset but not required.
  

Different Levels – Different Expectations

We are hiring across multiple levels.

Financial Analyst:

You may be earlier in your career but should have solid analytical fundamentals, strong Excel skills, exposure to Power BI, and an interest in developing deeper FP&A and business partnering capabilities.

Experienced Financial Analyst:

You should be comfortable independently managing recurring reporting and analysis, working with stakeholders, investigating variances, and developing Power BI and Excel-based reporting.

Senior Financial Analyst:

You should be capable of independently partnering with business leaders, owning significant areas of FP&A and performance reporting, explaining key business drivers, and turning complex financial and operational information into clear recommendations for management.

Candidates do not need to meet every requirement listed above. Level and compensation will be determined based on experience, technical capability, finance knowledge, and ability to operate independently.

Compensation

The expected base salary range is approximately $65,000–$95,000 CAD, depending on the position, experience, and overall qualifications.
