Original job description
Vyvyd Lighting is hiring an experienced Lighting Quotations & Technical Inside Sales Specialist to manage customer inquiries, prepare accurate quotations, and support architectural lighting projects.
Location: Concord, Ontario - full-time, on-site
Base salary: CAD $65,000–$80,000 annually, based on relevant experience and demonstrated technical capability.
This position requires at least two years of hands-on lighting quotation experience with a lighting manufacturer, representative agency, or electrical distributor. You should be comfortable preparing quotations and reviewing lighting specifications. We provide training on Vyvyd’s products, pricing, and processes.
ABOUT VYVYD
Vyvyd Lighting develops and supplies architectural lighting for commercial, retail, hospitality, institutional, and high-end residential projects. You’ll work directly with the founder and our operations and production teams, with clear ownership of quotations and customer follow-up.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Manage incoming requests for quotations (RFQs) and technical information (RFIs) from representatives, distributors, designers, and project customers.
- Review drawings, fixture schedules, specifications, and quantities to prepare accurate quotations.
- Select appropriate products and configurations, identify missing information, and clarify requirements before quoting.
- Answer routine questions about product specifications, installation requirements, drivers, and dimming using approved documentation.
- Recognize technical uncertainties and escalate complex applications with the relevant information.
- Prepare product specification packages and coordinate shop drawings and submittals when required.
- Track quotation revisions, deadlines, customer feedback, and follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate customer, quotation, and project records in our ERP system.
- Coordinate stock availability and lead times with operations.
- Review confirmed orders against quotations and provide a complete handoff to our project-management team.
WHAT YOU BRING
- At least two years of direct experience preparing lighting quotations.
- Ability to read architectural drawings, reflected ceiling plans, fixture schedules, and product specifications.
- Working knowledge of LED lighting, voltage, drivers, colour temperature, CRI, beam angles, and dimming methods, including ELV and 0–10V.
- Experience communicating professionally with customers, representatives, distributors, or designers.
- Strong attention to quantities, product codes, accessories, pricing, and revisions.
- Ability to organize multiple active projects and follow through without repeated reminders.
- Proficiency with Excel, PDF tools, and an ERP or CRM system.
- Availability to work on-site in Concord, Ontario.
Experience with architectural linear lighting, custom configurations, ERPAG, Bluebeam, or AutoCAD is an asset.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
After learning our products and processes, you can independently handle routine quotations and technical inquiries, keep customers informed, maintain reliable follow-up, and hand over complete and accurate orders to operations.
WHY JOIN VYVYD?
Own the projects you work on. You’ll be the main inside-sales contact for your assigned opportunities, guiding customers from their initial inquiry through product selection, quotations, revisions, and order confirmation.
You’ll have room to make decisions within established pricing and technical guidelines, build customer relationships, and see how your work contributes to winning projects. For complex applications, you’ll work directly with the founder and technical team.
Once an order is confirmed, you’ll coordinate a clear handoff to our operations team. You’ll also have a voice in improving our products, documentation, and sales processes.
HOW TO APPLY
Apply through LinkedIn with your résumé. Please clearly identify your lighting-industry employers, the products you have quoted, and your experience working with drawings and specifications.
Shortlisted candidates will complete a brief practical quotation and technical-inquiry exercise using sample materials.
Applications from recruitment and staffing agencies are not requested.
