Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Lawyer at our client's office in Vaughan, Ontario. The successful candidate will handle legal research, draft legal documents, represent clients in legal proceedings, and attend court, primarily in commercial litigation and construction law.
Responsibilities also include maintaining client communications, managing case documentation, and collaborating with the team to achieve favorable outcomes for clients. The Lawyer must be able to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analyze relevant legislation, regulations, and case law.
- Draft and review legal documents, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Represent clients in legal proceedings and attend court hearings.
- Handle commercial and civil litigation matters, including construction law disputes.
- Manage cases from initiation through resolution.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case progress and legal strategies.
- Prepare and maintain accurate case documentation and records.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients' interests.
- Manage multiple files, competing priorities, and deadlines efficiently.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop effective legal strategies.
- Uphold professional ethics and deliver exceptional client service.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practise law in Ontario and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Experience in litigation, courtroom representation, and case management.
- Familiarity with commercial/civil litigation and construction law principles.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients, files, and deadlines efficiently.
