Position: Financial Controller
Work Schedule: Full-time

Here is a summary of the position's responsibilities. Accounting and monthly cycle
Manage the full accounting cycle for assigned entities: journal entries, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll interface.
Execute month-end closing according to a set schedule, supported by working papers.
Process and reconcile intercompany transactions.
Prepare year-end files for external accountants.
Projects and costs
Maintain project budgets and costs; generate "cost-to-complete" reports.
Track commitments, change orders, and budget variances.
Development accounting: cost capitalization and tracking by phase and project.
Financing and Disbursements
Prepare construction financing draw packages and supporting documentation for quantity surveyors and lenders.
Manage progress billing, holdbacks, and supplier disbursements.
Provide data required for covenant monitoring and lender reporting.
Construction financing draw packages, including CMHC files.
Treasury and Controls
Prepare operational cash flow forecasts for assigned entities.
Document procedures and implement Group internal controls.
Supervise bookkeeping staff and review their work.
Support the preparation of financial information for investors and the Group's consolidated financial statements.
Support the integration of systems and the chart of accounts across the Group.
Profile
CPA designation or equivalent proven experience.
5+ years of accounting experience, including significant experience in construction, real estate development, or property management.
Proficiency in project cost tracking, construction budgets, and financing draws.
Comfortable working in a multi-entity environment and handling intercompany transactions.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting or project management ERP systems.
High level of autonomy: ability to structure work in a construction environment where processes are not yet established.
Bilingual (French and English).
