About The Role
We are seeking a motivated mid- to senior-level Securities Lawyer to join a well-established legal practice in Montreal. The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of clients, including investment fund managers, brokers, advisors, public and private mutual funds, and related service providers.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with securities law experience who is looking to contribute to complex transactions, provide strategic legal advice, and work collaboratively within a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on securities law and regulatory matters.
- Prepare and review investment fund documentation.
- Handle registrations and filings with relevant regulatory authorities.
- Interpret and apply applicable securities legislation and regulations.
- Support securities and capital markets transactions.
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to clients.
- Collaborate with colleagues and maintain strong client relationships.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in securities law.
- Experience preparing investment fund documentation.
- Experience with regulatory registrations and filings.
- Strong understanding of applicable securities legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
- Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and business acumen.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to work.
- Ability to develop practical and innovative solutions to complex legal matters.
