Role Summary

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to support new product development for one of our customers. If you're passionate about mechanical design, sheet metal design, 3D modeling, and product development using SolidWorks and Teamcenter, we'd love to connect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components, sheet metal parts, enclosures, and assemblies for new product development.
  • Create detailed 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and assembly layouts using SolidWorks.
  • Manage engineering designs, product structures, and design documentation using Teamcenter PLM.
  • Apply sheet metal design principles, including bend allowances, flat patterns, material selection, and fabrication requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
  • Support prototype development, design verification, testing, and engineering changes.
  • Ensure designs meet engineering specifications, GD&T requirements, and manufacturing standards.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), cost optimization, and continuous product improvement.
  • Support product lifecycle management activities, including BOM creation, drawing releases, and engineering change management.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years mechanical design with strong SolidWorks proficiency across parts, drawings, large assemblies, sheet metal, weldments, and configurations.
  • Strong experience in mechanical design and new product development (NPD).
  • Hands-on expertise in SolidWorks 3D modeling, part design, assembly design, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with Teamcenter PLM for product data management, design release, revision control, and engineering change management.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal design, flat patterns, bend allowances, fabrication processes, and manufacturing methods.
  • Good understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, fastening methods, material selection, and mechanical assembly.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA, prototype development, design validation, and production support.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and deliver manufacturing-ready designs.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
