Original job description

Who We Are

We are a highly specialized programmatic advertising agency. We focus 100% of our efforts on digital media buying. It’s how we exceed conversion goals in nearly every campaign we run and why our clients include some of the biggest companies in North America.

We know that happy employees = exceptional work and client satisfaction. That’s why we’ve created an environment that is welcoming and inspiring for all team members. We value your aspirations, and we’ll regularly help you set goals to achieve those milestones.

We’re open, honest, and firm believers of ideas coming first – not egos. We believe in clear lines of communication and a culture that champions creativity and growth, and we always celebrate accomplishments.

About The Role

War Room is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing team! Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, qualifying leads, and supporting our sales pipeline. You’ll play a key role in connecting with prospective clients and positioning our digital marketing and technical services to meet their needs.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is motivated, curious, and eager to build a career in sales within a fast-growing digital marketing agency.

Please note that this is a hybrid role that requires 2 days a week in the office. We are located at 210 W Broadway, Vancouver.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead & Pipeline Development

Identify, prospect, and engage potential clients through outbound channels (email, LinkedIn, and calling where appropriate).
Qualify inbound leads and book discovery meetings that align with War Room's ideal client profile.
Ensure a consistent flow of qualified discovery meetings for the Sales team.
Qualify prospects based on anticipated media budget, decision-making authority, and a genuine reason to explore paid media services.

Prospecting & Research

Build targeted prospect lists using tools such as lemlist, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar platforms.
Conduct account and contact research to personalize outreach.
Support refinement of ICPs, personas, and targeting criteria.
Develop, execute, and optimize multichannel outbound prospecting sequences.

CRM & Sales Operations

Accurately track leads, activities, and outcomes in HubSpot.
Maintain strong CRM hygiene and follow established workflows.
Contribute to reporting on outreach activity, conversion rates, and pipeline contribution.
Share insights on what messaging and approaches are resonating in the market.
Document relevant prospect qualification information in HubSpot to support a smooth handover to Sales.

Skills & Experience

1-3 years of experience in B2B sales development or business development, with demonstrated success in outbound prospecting and booking discovery meetings.
Strong interest in digital marketing, advertising, or tech services.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Comfortable with outbound prospecting and resilient in handling rejection.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple outreach activities.
Proactive self-starter with a growth mindset.
Experience with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) is an asset.

Bonus Points

Programmatic exposure/experience
Agency experience

We ask that if you feel like you don’t check all the boxes but have the potential to learn what you don’t know, you still apply! We believe that diverse teams are high-performing teams and we strive to employ individuals with a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

We want you to know what to expect throughout our hiring process:
