Responsibilities
Our priority is to make sure we hire safe pitchers that care about the service provided to the community. As a pitcher with us the minimum responsibilities are:
- Assisting with the collection of solid waste by manually loading garbage, recycling, and yard waste into the truck on designated routes.
- Assisting the garbage truck driver with backing and other maneuvers
- Stepping on and off the garbage truck repeatedly throughout the day in a safe and efficient manner.
- Following route sheets and instructions from the driver or dispatcher to ensure all stops are serviced.
- Maintaining cleanliness around collection and dumping areas by picking up any spilled waste.
- Performing basic safety checks on equipment and reporting any issues to the driver or supervisor.
- Interacting professionally and courteously with customers when necessary.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the driver or supervisor.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly and working in all weather conditions.
- Comfortable with repetitive motion, including walking, bending, lifting, and climbing.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Previous experience in waste collection or manual labor is an asset.
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements (e.g., physical test, background check, etc.).

Responsibilities
Manually load garbage, recycling, and yard waste into the truck, assist the driver with backing and other maneuvers, and follow route instructions to ensure all stops are serviced. Keep collection and dumping areas clean, perform basic equipment safety checks, and interact courteously with customers when needed.
Requirements
Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive physical tasks, and work in all weather conditions. Strong teamwork, communication, reliability, and punctuality are required; prior waste collection or manual labor experience is an asset, and applicants must pass pre-employment requirements.
