Original job description

We're on the search for a General Manager on behalf of our client, a leading Canadian senior living organization, for its private long-term care, complex care and memory living community. If you have 3-5 years of leadership experience, ideally in senior living, hospitality or a related field, this may be an opportunity for you.

Reporting to the Director of Operations & Sales, the General Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the residence, including resident care, programs, services, environmental coordination and fiscal performance. This is an opportunity for an experienced operator who can work through the home's history, rebuild trust and consistency across the leadership team, and firmly establish the organization's policies, procedures and standards of care.

You will lead a leadership team of approximately seven, working closely with the Director of Care and coaching department managers to run their areas effectively while ensuring consistent, high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance, always in the best interest of residents and their families.

The role calls for both business and clinical credibility: the ability to manage financials, staffing and vendor needs while engaging knowledgeably with the clinical side of long-term and complex care. Proven financial and business acumen, a sales orientation that keeps suites occupied, and a track record of building a strong, cohesive leadership team are key, and experience stabilizing a team through instability is a strong asset. You are a calm, resilient and resourceful leader who is genuinely resident-centred, takes ownership of outcomes and models the organization's values day to day.

A competitive compensation package and benefits are part of the package.

All responses are sent to Waterstone Human Capital. Please, indicate your interest in Project # 0418-0005S. Please note: Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
