About the Job
The MEP Estimator is responsible for pricing mechanical, electrical and plumbing scope for transit stations, tunnels, facilities and associated infrastructure. The role combines detailed estimating with strong trade subcontractor engagement.
What You Will Be Doing?

- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and estimates for HVAC, tunnel and station ventilation, plumbing and drainage, fire protection and suppression, power distribution, lighting, grounding and bonding, and low-voltage systems
- Define MEP subcontract packages and scope splits, clearly identifying interfaces with civil works and rail systems (traction power, signalling, communications)
- Solicit and level quotes from mechanical and electrical subcontractors and major equipment suppliers (tunnel ventilation fans, switchgear, transformers, generators, elevators and escalators)
- Assess long-lead equipment, escalation risk and supply chain constraints
- Support design partners on MEP design development, value engineering and code compliance (OBC, NFPA 130, CSA)
- Contribute to risk and opportunity registers and basis-of-estimate documents
- Coordinate with the Planner on MEP installation sequencing, testing and commissioning durations
What We Are Looking For?

- Knowledge of the Ontario MEP subcontractor and supplier market
- P.Eng., C.E.T. or electrical/mechanical trade background is an asset
