About the Job
We are hiring a Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction team.
Expected Compensation
The exact salary you will earn is dependent on the specific project to which you are assigned. Currently, the salary range for projects you may be assigned to in the position of Quantity Surveyor is $90 to $105K.
What You Will Be Doing?
- Prepare monthly cost accruals and support financial reporting processes.
- Prepare SIL (Work Cost – Work Internal Progress) summaries for subcontractors and coordinate submission to the SAP Finance module.
- Monitor and report subcontractor commercial status and commitments.
- Prepare and validate subcontractor/vendor workforce lists as required.
- Track production quantities on site and ensure alignment with payment applications and cost control records.
- Assist in reviewing contracts and POs to identify potential variations, budget overruns, or change order requirements.
- Maintain the SIL database and equipment cost reports and submit to Cost Control.
- Prepare payment certificates for subcontractors, suppliers, third-party service providers, and consultants, ensuring verification of quantities and unit rates.
- Compile supporting documentation for payment certificates and obtain required approvals.
- Maintain and update subcontractor trackers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Track aggregate materials and provide monthly summaries to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor labor and equipment hours, cross-checking site submissions with internal systems (e.g., Procore or similar ERP/PM software).
- Participate in weekly construction meetings to review quantities executed and commercial status.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Contracts for change order issuance and contract amendments.
- Ensure all commercial documentation complies with contractual requirements, project standards, and company procedures.
What We Are Looking For?
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, commercial administration, or project cost management within the construction industry.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, progress payment processes, cost control, change management, and commercial administration.
- Experience preparing payment certificates, cost accruals, subcontractor reconciliations, and project cost reports.
- Proficiency with SAP, Procore, Microsoft Excel, and other ERP or project management systems.
- Experience using construction estimating and quantity take-off software (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD, RIB/Bluebeam or equivalent) is considered an asset.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong customer and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Experience on major infrastructure, transit, or LRT projects is considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to manage commercial risks, budgets, and contractual obligations effectively.
