Position: Inside Sales Expert - West

Reports to: Client Relations Team Leader

Position Summary:

The Inside Sales Expert is responsible for driving inside sales activities while working closely with Field Sales, Marketing, Client Relations, and Distribution Partners to support business growth and customer success. The role focuses on developing strong relationships with prospects, customers, and key decision-makers, increasing product awareness, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting the achievement of territory sales objectives.

The position serves as a key point of contact for customer inquiries and support, providing timely assistance with orders, quotations, pricing, technical requests, and payment-related matters. By coordinating with internal teams across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Client Relation, the Internal Sales Specialist ensures complete ownership and resolution of customer requests and issues.

Success in this role requires a proactive, customer-focused approach, strong communication and relationship-building skills, effective pipeline and CRM management, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience that drives customer satisfaction, loyalty, and long-term business growth.

Main Accountabilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, requests, and issue resolution by coordinating with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, Product Support, and other internal or external stakeholders.
Deliver an exceptional customer experience by proactively communicating status updates, resolving concerns, answering questions, and ensuring timely follow-up throughout the entire customer journey.
Support revenue growth by qualifying and managing sales opportunities, maintaining an active sales pipeline, and collaborating closely with Field Sales, Marketing, and Client Relation steams to achieve territory objectives.
Manage and develop customer accounts generating less than CAD $25,000 annually, identifying growth opportunities and transitioning accounts to the appropriate Territory Sales Manager when strategic growth thresholds are achieved.
Provide comprehensive sales support, including quotations, cross-references, sample requests, pricing, product information, order management, and other customer-related sales activities.
Coordinate customer requests and commercial activities to ensure all requirements - including production capability, delivery schedules, pricing, quotations, invoicing, and resource availability - are handled accurately and efficiently.
Identify, communicate, and escalate high-potential opportunities, including repeat OEM business, panel builder projects, and scalable industrial automation solutions, to support long-term business growth.
Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and activity records within the Weidmüller CRM system and ensure compliance with all reporting requirements and business processes.
Monitor, analyse, and report key performance indicators, sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and territory performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to management.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support territory objectives, strengthen customer relationships, and contribute to the achievement of regional sales and business growth targets.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and overall business performance through proactive communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Qualifications

Technical Diploma
