What we do at Weir
We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.

What you’ll do
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the Surrey BC quality team, including Quality Control Inspectors, to ensure all quality and Weir objectives are met. Daily activities include organizing inspection schedules and resource allocation across shifts to maintain quality coverage. Success means a well-coordinated team delivering consistent quality outcomes.
• Quality Process Management: Administer and maintain key quality processes such as ISO9001 QMS internal audits, calibration of inspection and test equipment, and review and resolution of customer complaints and nonconformance related to rubber products. Daily tasks involve overseeing documentation and corrective actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
• Customer and Supplier Quality Support: Review customer quality requirements, prepare and submit inspection test plans (ITPs), and manage supplier nonconformance reports to support production teams in Surrey and Elliot Lake. Success is measured by timely and accurate quality documentation and positive customer feedback.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Scheduling, Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality standards are integrated into all stages of production and project execution. This includes attending project kick-off meetings and liaising with third-party inspectors and regulatory bodies.
• Travel Requirements: Up to 10% travel is expected, primarily for visiting customer sites and supporting quality activities at the Elliot Lake, ON facility.
• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
