Role Description The Territory Development Representative is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area, with a mix of on-site client visits and some work-from-home flexibility. This role focuses on growing assigned territories by identifying and qualifying new leads, nurturing relationships with existing customers, and supporting the sales team in developing opportunities. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching prospective clients and projects, making outbound calls and emails, scheduling meetings, and providing timely follow-up on inquiries. The Territory Development Representative will maintain accurate records in CRM systems, prepare basic quotes or proposals in collaboration with technical and sales staff, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified opportunities. The role also involves learning Welco’s product lines, attending occasional site visits or industry events, and representing the company professionally in all customer interactions.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Lead Generation and Sales to identify prospects, qualify opportunities, and support territory growth.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication and Customer Service skills to engage with clients, address inquiries, and build long-term relationships.
- Candidates should possess Research skills to investigate markets, projects, and customer needs and to support prospecting activities.
- Candidates should demonstrate proficiency with CRM or sales enablement tools and basic Microsoft Office or similar productivity software.
- Candidates should have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable with occasional travel within the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area.
- Candidates should bring prior experience in industrial, mining, or equipment sales or business development; post-secondary education in business, engineering, or a related field is an asset.
- Candidates should show a self-directed work style, ability to manage multiple priorities, and willingness to learn technical product information.
