Original job description
Wenco International Mining Systems (www.wencomine.com), a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM), provides industry leading, innovative technologies to customers in the mining and material movement sectors, enabling sustainable and safe operations.
As Project Lead, Field Services, you will be accountable for safe, consistent and predictable delivery of our field service projects across the region, including system implementations, hardware deployments, network upgrades and site trials. You will own project outcomes from start to finish: planning, resourcing, tracking and delivering, and acting as the link between the field team, Sales and the client. You bring a hybrid hardware and software foundation, proven project management skills, and the maturity to lead difficult client conversations with confidence.
What you will do
- Own end-to-end delivery of field service projects across the region, against defined scope, schedule and cost
- Build and maintain project plans, schedules, resource assignments and status reporting across concurrent projects
- Lead pre-installation planning, site readiness assessments and kickoff, and drive day-to-day execution remotely with site presence at key milestones
- Be the primary Services contact from commercial preparation through Sales-to-delivery handover, and the main Wenco contact for site managers, IT/OT teams and operations leaders
- Lead change conversations when scope, schedule or technical conditions shift
- Coordinate field analysts, hardware specialists and technical staff with clear tasks, scheduling and escalation support, and mentor them in project execution and client communication
- Maintain enough working knowledge of our hardware and software to oversee the technical work and step in when field coverage is short
- Surface risks, delays and change requests early, lead structured resolution, and escalate cross-functional issues with clear recommendations focused on root cause
- Apply project management and quality management discipline on every project, and complete post-project reviews so improvements are captured
- Put safety first: gather and communicate all site access and safety requirements before mobilization, manage travel and operational risks, and let safety override schedule and commercial pressure
What you bring
- 5+ years in field service, technical project coordination or related roles in industrial, mining or technology environments
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with cross-functional teams across distributed locations
- Experience with hardware and software installation, commissioning or system deployments in operational environments
- Understanding of radio networks, GNSS (including RTK), IT/OT infrastructure, Windows environments and networking fundamentals
- Mining or heavy industry experience is an asset, and exposure to fleet management systems is highly valued
- Excellent client-facing communication, able to lead difficult conversations and keep trust under pressure
- A strong sense of accountability and ownership, and the ability to direct the work of others without formal authority
- Proficiency with project management, reporting and resource planning tools, with strong organization and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an engineering mindset
- Degree or diploma in engineering, technology, electronics, mechatronics or computer science, or equivalent practical experience. PMP or CAPM is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and passport
Travel: Moderate, up to 50%. Regional primary, with international travel as required, including site visits at kickoff, key milestones and critical installation phases.
Base salary of $110,000- $130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Wenco advances the efficiency and safety of the world’s surface mining equipment through our fleet management systems. We are committed to providing a stable yet exciting work place environment for individual employees to build and grow their career with the Company.
Wenco is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
