The mine is located a short drive from Wawa, deep in the forest where it is scenic and quiet. It is a real ‘boots on the ground’ setting. Team members reside in a camp environment and typically work on rotations, depending on the position. The camp offers excellent food, a sauna/gym, recreational room and the opportunity to stay connected with family and friends.
Salary Range: $77,000.00 to $100,000.00

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Exploration Manager and Exploration Superintendent, the Logging Geologist – Surface Exploration will support the surface exploration activities near the Eagle River, Mishi, and Magnacon mine infrastructure, as well as across the Eagle River regional land package.
This is a site-based role responsible for the management of an exploration drill and logging the drill core it produces. With training and mentorship, the role is expected to progressively support geological interpretation, target generation, and modelling.
Working with the surface geology team, the Logging Geologist – Surface Exploration will execute core descriptions and ensure all data related to logging is entered accurately into the appropriate database and tracking sheets. The candidate will assist with communication with their drillers to ensure hole parameters are clearly understood.

You are a detail-oriented and motivated geologist with a strong interest in mineral exploration and hands-on experience with diamond drill core logging. You bring strong geological observation, data interpretation, and organizational skills, with the ability to accurately document geological and geotechnical information while maintaining high standards of data quality and QA/QC.
Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties
- Complete detailed geological logging of diamond drill core, including lithology, alteration, mineralization, veining, and structure.
- Identify and document geological contacts, mineralized intervals, and other significant geological features.
- Complete geotechnical logging and core measurements as required.
- Ensure drill core is accurately measured, photographed, labelled, and organized.
- Mark and prepare drill core for sampling in accordance with established protocols.
- Assist with core cutting, sample selection, bagging, labelling, and shipment to the laboratory.
- Follow QA/QC procedures, including the insertion of standards, blanks, and duplicates.
- Accurately enter geological, sampling, and analytical data into the exploration database.
- Assist with data validation and resolution of discrepancies in collaboration with senior geologists and database personnel.
- Maintain accurate drill-hole records, geological logs, sample documentation, and core inventories.
- Assist with the preparation of geological sections, maps, drill-hole summaries, and technical reports.
- Support senior geologists with geological interpretation, mineralization modelling, and exploration targeting.
- Work collaboratively with drill crews, technicians, contractors, and other members of the exploration team.
- Participate in field exploration activities, including geological mapping, prospecting, and surface sampling, as required.
- Follow all company health, safety, environmental, and exploration procedures and actively contribute to a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-secondary degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Geochemical, or another relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- Be in good standing as a P.Geo or G.I.T. with a provincial-level Geology/Engineering association, or eligibility for registration.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multi-disciplinary teams, as well as work independently to complete assignments
- Ability to work under pressure with a high level of commitment to meeting deadlines and producing high quality work.
Working Conditions / Schedule
Location: Eagle River Mine
Shift / Hours of Work: 10-hours
Schedule / Rotation: 14 days on, 14 days off
Type of Hire: Permanent, Full-Time
