The mine is located a short drive from Wawa, deep in the forest where it is scenic and quiet. It is a real ‘boots on the ground’ setting. Team members reside in a camp environment and typically work on rotations, depending on the position. The camp offers excellent food, a sauna/gym, recreational room and the opportunity to stay connected with family and friends.
Salary Range: $98,000.00 to $127,000.00

About the Opportunity
Wesdome Gold Mines is seeking a Geomatics Technician – Mapping and Data, for the Eagle River Complex. The successful candidate will report to the Exploration Manager and would be responsible for GIS databases, would play a key role in providing technical and administrative support to underground and surface exploration activities at the mine. This position is responsible for map production, technical drafting, management of geoscientific GIS databases, and administrative support related to exploration activities, ensuring the quality, integrity, and efficiency of operations.

You are a detail-oriented and organized geomatics professional with experience supporting mineral exploration or mining operations. You bring strong technical skills in mapping, drafting, and geoscientific data management, with the ability to work closely with geologists and engineers to accurately and efficiently manage and present technical information.
Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties
- Produce, update, and maintain geological plans, maps, and sections.
- Prepare technical drawings for underground and surface exploration teams.
- Ensure drawings comply with internal standards and industry standards.
- Work closely with geologists and engineers to accurately represent field data.
- Administer, structure, and maintain exploration databases (drilling, sampling, geology, geophysics).
- Ensure the integrity, quality, and security of geoscientific data.
- Import, validate, and organize data from the field and various sources.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of systems, tools, and data workflows.
- Process purchase order (PO) requests and provide administrative follow-up related to the needs of exploration teams.
- Support teams with various related administrative tasks associated with exploration projects.
- Maintain clear and structured documentation of data-related processes and administrative follow-up.
- Perform any other related duties as required by operational needs.
- Participate in the implementation and application of laws and regulations, standards, and procedures in effect at the Kiena mining complex
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in technical drafting, geomatics, geology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of experience.
- Experience in mineral exploration or mining operations.
- Good knowledge of mapping and geoscience software (ArcGIS, QGIS, Leapfrog, or equivalents).
- Experience with databases (Access, SQL, acQuire, Geotic, or others).
- Good command of the Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint.
- Very good written and verbal communication skills in English. Functional in French is an asset.
Working Conditions / Schedule
Location: Eagle River Mine, opportunity to be Hybrid
Shift / Hours of Work: 12-hour shifts
Schedule / Rotation: 7 days on, 7 days off
Type of Hire: Permanent, Full-Time
