Position Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on role focuses on dimensional inspection of precision sheet metal parts, using measuring tools and mechanical drawings to verify that manufactured components meet customer specifications.

The ideal candidate has experience measuring physical parts, can confidently read and interpret engineering drawings, and is comfortable documenting inspection results and communicating quality issues to production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform first article, final, and occasional in-process inspections.
  • Measure dimensions, angles, and other features of manufactured parts to verify compliance with drawing specifications and tolerances.
  • Use a variety of measuring and inspection equipment accurately.
  • Identify quality issues and communicate them to the appropriate production work center for correction.
  • Record inspection measurements, complete quality reports, and document non-conforming parts.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to support consistent product quality.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection, dimensional inspection, or a similar role involving precision measurement of manufactured parts.
  • Must have hands-on experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, protractors, height gauges, or similar tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints, including dimensions and tolerances.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of the inspection team.
  • Reliable, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Preferred Attributes

  • Previous inspection experience in sheet metal fabrication, precision machining, CNC manufacturing, or similar mechanical manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with first article inspection, final inspection, and quality reporting processes.
  • Basic familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience working with production teams to resolve non-conformance issues.

Schedule & Pay Details

  • Shift: Day shift (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM)
  • Salary range: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
  • Location: Port Coquitlam, BC
  • Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
