Tasks
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

Responsibilities
Read blueprints and prepare layouts in accordance with building codes, then measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install construction materials and components. Build and repair structural elements, install windows, doors, stairs, and hardware, and maintain or renovate residential and other wooden structures.
Requirements
Requires a secondary school graduation certificate and 3 to less than 5 years of experience. Candidates need hand-tool experience, a valid driver's licence, personal tools and safety equipment, and the ability to handle heavy loads and work in noisy, dusty environments and at heights.
