With a tight-knit team of approximately 10, we’re proud of our reputation for integrity in both residential and commercial construction. We’re seeking a talented Construction Estimator to help formalize and lead our estimating function, playing a key role in our next phase of growth.

Opportunity

This role includes direct collaboration with the Project Manager and company leadership to help build structured estimating processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Project Estimating: Develop detailed cost estimates for residential and commercial projects using quantity takeoffs, trade quotes, and historical data.
Bid Development: Prepare and submit competitive proposals and tender packages.
Preconstruction Support: Participate in design and value engineering reviews.
Process Development: Create and implement estimating standards, templates, and procedures to formalize an internal estimating system.
Project Coordination: Assist the Project Manager with scheduling, scope review, budgeting, and subcontractor alignment.
Client & Subcontractor Communication: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and availability.
Document Management: Maintain detailed estimate records, assumptions, and project documentation.

Qualifications

5+ years experience in estimating in the construction industry.
Proficient with estimating tools (e.g. Bluebeam, Excel, or cloud-based estimating software).
Familiarity with construction drawings, scopes, and industry pricing.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Experience developing or improving internal systems or workflows is an asset
A diploma/degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred

Perks and Benefits

Flexible work arrangements
Competitive compensation ($30-$50 per hour)
Opportunity to shape and lead estimating processes
Collaborative and professional work environment.

Application Process

If you’re a proactive, detail-oriented construction professional who thrives in a small team environment and wants to help build something from the ground up, we want to hear from you.

Please send your application to Careers@WestSixth.ca . Kindly note that only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

Take the next step in your career and join a company that values excellence and innovation in every aspect of construction. Apply today and become an integral part of our accomplished team.
