Class 1 Professional Truck Driver

Westcan Bulk Transport

Location: Canada Wide

The Kenan Advantage Group Inc., (KAG), is North America’s largest tank truck transporter and logistics provider, delivering energy commodities, specialty products, merchant gases, and food products across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Our Canadian Operating companies are Westcan Bulk Transport, RTL Construction, Les Distributions Carl Beaulac, and Fisher Transport – KAG Canada!

KAG Canada is currently seeking Class 1 Professional Truck Drivers to join our propane hauling team across Canada. Exciting opportunities are coming up on our Northern Hauling lanes, along with more local driving roles in and around our terminal network.

Apply today, and we’ll work with you to match you with the terminal that best fits your location, preferred travel area, skill, experience and the amount of time you’re prepared to spend on the road.

Northern Operations:

  • This work will be performed under contract (end of November through early April).
  • Drivers can commit to staying North for the full period of the contract or work on a 6-week-on/2-week-off schedule for the duration of the contract.
  • Routes will operate throughout the North (Northern British Columbia into Whitehorse and Inuvik).
  • This is among the most demanding work we undertake and requires drivers who are prepared for the extended duration, severe climate, and physical demands of the haul. The ability to take initiative, work independently, remain self-sufficient, and address basic mechanical issues is essential.
  • Pay: Regular terms and conditions of the Driver Pay Memo, plus:
    • a weekly wage guarantee of $2,450
    • scheduled bonus of $1,200 paid at the end of the contract for those on 6/2, and $4,000 payable to drivers who commit to the full season and stay North for a minimum period of 16 weeks, or until released by the company
    • additional $0.05 cents per km (if 5,000 km is travelled weekly, total contract additional earnings could be over $4,000 for the duration of the contract)

Local Hauling:

  • Bunk-truck positions with a 70/36 schedule, designed to maximize available hours of service before a reset.
  • A 6-week-on/2-week-off rotation may be available for drivers commuting from out of province. Drivers who live nearby can expect to complete their reset in the truck for several shifts before returning home for their scheduled days off.
  • Drivers must be able to install tire chains when weather or road conditions require them.
  • Pay: Regular terms and conditions of the Driver Pay Memo.

Qualifications:

  • Class 1/AZ License with a minimum of 2 years of recent highway experience.
  • Super B, tanker, and off-road experience is necessary; on-site drug and alcohol screen, job abilities assessment, and company-paid criminal record search.
