Original job description

The Hotel Night Manager will be a team leader who is self-motivated and is able to oversee the busy operations of the hotel, bar and restaurant. The candidate will have the ability to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the hotel, bar and restaurant. The Hotel Night manager will be required to maintain a flexible schedule and be available to work shift work, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure quality customer service and answer customer inquiries
Resolve customer concerns
Ensure operations standards and practices are followed
Understand, follow and enforce company policies and procedures
Control inventory and monitor revenues
Supervise, direct and provide support to staff
Train and coach new staff on work procedures
Provide feedback, set goals and evaluate performances
Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
Participate in monthly management and Joint Health & Safety meetings
Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health & safety and other government and industry regulations

Required Skills and Abilities:

High School Diploma and experience in the hospitality industry is required
Previous experience in a lead role is required
Strong aptitude for learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Strong computer skills in relation to Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Yardi experience an asset
Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking and decision-making skills
Must maintain a flexible work schedule and be able to work shift work, including weekends and holidays
Security clearance required upon offer of employment
Possess sensational customer service philosophy
Highly organized, results-oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment
