Our operations are supported by a team of skilled engineers, technicians, and industry professionals who are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of craftsmanship and innovation.

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada is seeking motivated and technically curious engineering student to join our Flight Sciences team. You will work directly with experienced engineers across a range of aircraft systems and disciplines, contributing to ongoing design, analysis, testing, and support activities that keep our aircraft performing safely and efficiently.

This is a 12-16 month internship with a January, 2027 start date.

Responsibilities:

You can expect to:

Contribute to plan and conduct structural and systems ground tests in support of development, certification, and production programs.
Contribute to design and set up test rigs and fixtures, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements and safety protocols.
Assist in Instrument test articles and validate data acquisition systems.
Analyze and interpret test data to assess performance and structural integrity.
Prepare detailed test plans, procedures, and reports in accordance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Design Engineering, Stress Analysis, Manufacturing, and Quality.
Support troubleshooting activities and root cause analysis for test failures.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., Transport Canada, FAA, EASA) and company policies.
Maintain accurate documentation and configuration control of test articles and equipment.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in testing methodologies and processes.

What We’re Looking For:

Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
Completion of at least 2 years of study by the start of the internship.
A strong interest in aircraft systems, structures, and design.
Working knowledge of engineering tools such as CATIA, MATLAB, Excel/VBA, or other technical software (varies by role).
Clear communication skills and the ability to take initiative while working as part of a team.

What You'll Gain:

Exposure to the full aircraft lifecycle - from design to test to delivery.
Practical experience working on certification, production support, and fleet sustainment.
Mentorship from senior engineers and insight into career paths across multiple disciplines.
The chance to make real contributions to active engineering projects with national and international reach.
