THE OPPORTUNITY
Western Forest Products is hiring a Documentation Specialist to join our team based in Vancouver, BC.
What You’ll Do: The Documentation Specialist complies export documentation for carriers, customers and customs. This role coordinates with customers, internal teams, carriers, and other external partners to support smooth and efficient order and shipment processes.

You are proactive in identifying and resolving issues, following up on missing information, and preventing delays that could impact customer service or business operations. You have strong analytical and administrative skills, with experience supporting sales teams through order entry, reporting, invoicing, and customer account management. A collaborative team player, you build strong working relationships across departments and are committed to delivering exceptional service while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
What We Offer:
- Salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 based on skill level, qualifications, and experience

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, review, and process export documentation to ensure accurate and timely shipment execution;
- Invoicing of lumber shipments including costing of transportation and other related items for the North American and Export markets;
- Understanding export documentation and customs compliance requirements;
- Coordinate the preparation of Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and other export documentation;
- Submit documentation to customers, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other relevant parties within required deadlines;
- Monitor documentation deadlines and proactively follow up on missing information to prevent shipment delays;
- Providing support to Sales Managers and Sales Representatives, including order entry, reporting, and analysis;
- Manage customer claims from Sales to invoice correction;
- Perform other duties, projects, and assignments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- 2-4 years’ experience in Export Documentation, lumber industry experience preferable; and
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and react to changing conditions;
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter and under supervision;
- Ability to communicate effectively and work to timelines;
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented;
- Ability to think critically;
- Strong Microsoft Office skills;
- Letters of credit experience an asset;
- LumberTrack knowledge is an asset.
