  • Develop and maintain Excel-based financial models and reporting tools to support business decisions.

Reconciliations & Internal Controls

  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and accruals.
  • Ensure general ledger accounts are reconciled to supporting subledgers and discrepancies are resolved promptly.

  • Liaise with external auditors and respond to audit requests.
  • Support corporate tax filings, sales tax returns and government remittances.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and Canadian regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, mentor and develop accounting team members.
  • Assign and review work, establish priorities and ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable and service-oriented team environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation or actively pursuing completion.
  • Minimum six years of progressive accounting experience, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or ASPE and Canadian tax requirements, including GST/HST and payroll remittances.
  • Demonstrated experience managing month-end and year-end close processes and preparing audit working papers.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling, reporting and data analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle Fusion is mandatory.
  • Exceptional account reconciliation skills and a strong understanding of general ledger and subledger processes.
  • Proven process improvement capabilities and the ability to identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to balance technical accounting responsibilities with team leadership.
