About the Role
Wilson & Associates Contracting Ltd. is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager/Estimator to join our team in London, Ontario.
This leadership role combines estimating and project management. You will price commercial, institutional, and industrial electrical projects at tender, then manage the work we win from award through closeout. You will work closely with our field teams, customers, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and office staff to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and profitably.
We are looking for someone who knows electrical construction, communicates well with customers and field personnel, and is confident making sound decisions independently.
The role is primarily office-based, with regular site visits to support project teams, attend site meetings, review progress, and mentor our electricians and foremen.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating
- Prepare accurate estimates and tender submissions for commercial, institutional, and industrial electrical projects typically $29,999.00 to $2 million in value.
- Review drawings, specifications, tender documents, and addenda, and complete material and labour takeoffs.
- Solicit, review, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes.
- Identify scope gaps, risks, and clarifications, and prepare bid qualifications and value-engineering options.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
- Track bid results and use completed job costs to improve future estimates.
Project Management
- Manage awarded projects from award through final closeout, turning the estimate into the project budget.
- Review contracts and project requirements, and develop schedules, purchasing plans, and labour requirements.
- Coordinate material purchasing, equipment, subcontractors, suppliers, and field labour.
- Work closely with foremen to plan and coordinate on-site activities.
- Monitor project costs, labour performance, schedules, and overall financial performance.
- Identify, price, negotiate, and document changes in scope, and prepare and manage change orders, purchase orders, RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation.
- Coordinate progress billing so projects are invoiced accurately and on time.
- Review job costing throughout the project and complete the financial reconciliation at closeout.
- Attend project meetings and maintain strong communication with customers, consultants, general contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site visits to review progress, quality, safety, and coordination.
Leadership and Growth
- Support and mentor foremen, journeypersons, and apprentices.
- Help develop new and existing customer relationships and identify future project opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with our service, project, and administrative teams.

The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in commercial, institutional, or industrial electrical construction.

- A strong understanding of project costing, labour management, purchasing, change orders, and construction scheduling.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and bids at once.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with customers, consultants, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
