About The Role

We are seeking a versatile and highly motivated Data Engineer to join our data analytics and reporting team. This pivotal role bridges the gap between raw data and actionable business insights, enhancing the robustness and efficiency of our data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills for ad-hoc analysis and reporting, proficiency in Power BI for dashboard development, and hands-on experience with Python for data extraction and loading within our data warehouse environment. The primary focus is designing and maintaining well-structured data models and robust transformation logic to support reliable, scalable analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 2-4 years of experience in a data-focused role emphasizing data engineering and/or analytics.
• Experience designing dimensional models (star/snowflake schemas) and translating business requirements into data models.
• Advanced SQL proficiency, including layered CTEs, reusable views, and incremental logic.
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines using SQL and/or Python to clean, standardize, and reshape raw data.
• Practical experience with dbt for modular, tested, and version-controlled transformation logic.
• Experience developing and publishing interactive dashboards in Power BI or similar tools (Tableau, Looker).
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, especially Google BigQuery or Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Proficiency in Power BI report development and DAX formula creation.
• Industry experience in e-Commerce, particularly with Shopify, is preferred.
• Strong Python skills for data manipulation, scripting, and building ETL/ELT processes (e.g., Pandas, SQLAlchemy).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities with attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Design and implement dimensional and relational data models (star/snowflake schemas) to support scalable analytics.
• Develop, document, and maintain transformation logic converting raw data into clean, business-ready datasets.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries and dbt models for data manipulation and layered transformations.
• Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and modeling best practices for warehouse consistency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business logic into intuitive, reusable data models.
• Continuously evaluate and refine existing models to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and documentation.
• Design, develop, and maintain Python scripts for data extraction and loading from multiple source systems.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency throughout pipelines, from ingestion to reporting layers.
• Identify and resolve data pipeline issues to guarantee timely and reliable data availability.
• Contribute to documentation of ETL processes, pipeline architecture, and data definitions.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to visualize KPIs and business trends.
• Perform ad-hoc data analyses using SQL and collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Product, and Operations teams to generate actionable insights.
