The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team. You will validate software and hardware solutions through manual and automated testing, investigate failures, and help ensure reliable releases. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a commitment to quality, and effective collaboration with developers, product owners, and support teams.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning and Execution
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and procedures from requirements and design specifications.
- Execute manual, automated, regression, integration, and system-level testing.
- Validate new features, service patches, release candidates, and general-availability releases.
- Cover positive, negative, boundary, and error-handling scenarios.
Defect Investigation and Analysis
- Identify, document, track, reproduce, and verify software defects.
- Investigate failed tests and support root cause analysis.
- Analyze backend, system, event, and automation logs, along with API responses and test evidence.
- Collaborate with development teams to verify fixes and assess regression risk.
Test Automation and CI/CD
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using appropriate frameworks.
- Improve automation coverage, reliability, diagnostics, and execution efficiency.
- Support Jenkins pipelines, automated regression runs, build validation, pull requests, and code reviews.
Release, Performance, and Reliability Validation
- Conduct release qualification and regression testing, then provide evidence-based release recommendations.
- Perform performance, load, and stress testing where required.
- Monitor CPU, memory, service health, and other system indicators to identify bottlenecks or instability.
Documentation and Reporting
- Create clear test reports, validation summaries, and reproducible test evidence.
- Document procedures, configurations, findings, logs, screenshots, videos, and API results.
- Maintain accurate and traceable records of testing activities and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years experience with software testing methodologies, test planning, test automation, scripting, API testing tools such as Postman and defect lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting VMware vSphere/ESXi environments, including virtual machines, virtual networking, and basic infrastructure administration.
- Good understanding of general networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, network bonding or link aggregation, DNS, DHCP, and firewall fundamentals.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced technical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Selenium, PyTest, or comparable automation frameworks.
- Experience with Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and version control workflows.
- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows environments.
- Familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, logging platforms, and observability practices.
- Experience with network, backend, API, UI, performance, or media-system testing.
- Exposure to video delivery, IPTV, OTT, broadcast, or streaming technologies is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with video stream analysis and troubleshooting, including tools or methods used to inspect transport streams, bitrate, timing, continuity, and audio/video quality, is considered an asset.
