Original job description

Your work days are brighter here.

We’re obsessed with making hard work pay off, for our people, our customers, and the world around us. As a Fortune 500 company and a leading AI platform for managing people, money, and agents, we’re shaping the future of work so teams can reach their potential and focus on what matters most. The minute you join, you’ll feel it. Not just in the products we build, but in how we show up for each other. Our culture is rooted in integrity, empathy, and shared enthusiasm. We’re in this together, tackling big challenges with bold ideas and genuine care. We look for curious minds and courageous collaborators who bring sun-drenched optimism and drive. Whether you're building smarter solutions, supporting customers, or creating a space where everyone belongs, you’ll do meaningful work with Workmates who’ve got your back. In return, we’ll give you the trust to take risks, the tools to grow, the skills to develop and the support of a company invested in you for the long haul. So, if you want to inspire a brighter work day for everyone, including yourself, you’ve found a match in Workday, and we hope to be a match for you too.

About the Team

Product Manager Interns at Workday collaborate with scrum teams and cross-functional partners to help design, document, and evolve AI-powered SaaS products across our oCHRO and Financials portfolio. These products are used by more than 75 million users globally and help our customers plan for, manage, and support their people and finances.

As part of the Product organization, you will help bridge the gap between market insights, feedback, and product development. You will translate needs into clear product requirements so teams can build features that are intuitive, compliant, and deliver measurable value to our customers and to Workday.

About the Role

As a Product Manager Intern, you will be an essential part of a product team, contributing to a real-world project that directly impacts our customers. You will gain hands-on experience across the full product development lifecycle, from research and ideation to launch and ongoing improvement. You will also be mentored by experienced Product Managers who are committed to supporting your growth.

Responsibilities:

Conduct discovery work such as research, internal interviews, usage analysis, and product requirement gathering to help your team deliver work aligned to the product vision
Use data and analytics to drive decision-making in product development
Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and other teams to share product context, gather input, and build alignment
Manage a dedicated project through updates, incorporating feedback, and refining the solution along the way
Track performance and share product insights or recommendations with product leaders and executive audiences

Workday Early Career Programs:

In addition to collaborating with experienced Product Managers, you’ll engage in our Early Career Programs - specifically structured to support and empower you to succeed throughout your internship!

Workday Intern Program:

Brighter work days start with real work and real support from a community that helps you shine from day one. During our in-person internship experience, you’ll jump into meaningful projects and see how your ideas can help shape the future of work.

Interns build enterprise skills through applied learning, personalized coaching, and connection events designed so our Early Talent can bring their best self to work. If you’re invested in your growth, team-oriented, and ready to bring fresh ideas to work that makes an impact, we’d love to meet you. The future is now - apply today to launch your career as a member of the Workday Intern Program.

P&T Atmosphere:

As a member of the Product & Technology org, you’ll participate in our P&T Atmosphere program - a dedicated investment in your growth that offers tailored training and deep dives into the Workday ecosystem. This specialized program equips you with job-critical skills and connects you directly with P&T leaders and peers to fast-track your product career.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master's degree program in Business, Product Management, Computer Science, Human Resources, Data Analytics, Information Science, or a related degree program
Less than 12 months of previous professional work experience
Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
Available for a full-time, in-person 6-month internship starting in February 2027 and ending August 2027 in the Vancouver office, and you will return to your university degree program after the conclusion of the internship
Experience working on school, internship, or personal projects that involve research, analysis, product thinking, business strategy, technology, or customer problem solving
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to share ideas clearly, listen to different perspectives, and collaborate cross-functionally

Other Qualifications:

Prior Product Manager Intern experience is a plus
Experience creating clear written materials such as project briefs, research summaries, requirements, presentations, or user stories
Familiarity with AI tooling such as Gemini, Claude, Cursor, Codex, or similar tools
Curiosity and eagerness to learn, with an interest in how Product Managers define problems, prioritize work, and partner with teams to deliver solutions

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Workday is an Equal Opportunity Employer including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

Workday is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals during our application process, in order to perform one or more essential functions of their job, as well as regarding the use of AI tools for employment decision-making to any degree. Please see below for more details including how to request an accommodation as a qualified veteran, due to a disability or for religious reasons, or as otherwise provided under applicable law.

Workday prohibits taking adverse action against any candidate or employee for reporting a possible violation of this policy, requesting one or more work accommodations, exercising a privacy right, or cooperating in an investigation in accordance with applicable law. Any employee who retaliates against a candidate or employee for doing so may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment, to the fullest extent allowable under applicable law.

If you require a reasonable accommodation, you may email accommodations@workday.com, as far in advance as possible.

Are you being referred to one of our roles? If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process!

At Workday, we value our candidates’ privacy and data security. Workday will never ask candidates to apply to jobs through websites that are not Workday Careers.

Please be aware of sites that may ask for you to input your data in connection with a job posting that appears to be from Workday but is not.
