Worley Canada Construction is looking for a
Material Controller I for our growing Materials Management team. The Material Controller I provides administrative and digital systems support to field Materials Management teams from the Edmonton Home Office. The primary focus is accurate material receiving, document follow-up, data entry, and maintenance of material records using systems such as ERM, SiteSense, and Imageconnect. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone with strong digital aptitude who is interested in building a career in Materials Management.
Work Conditions
- Home Office Position, based in Edmonton.
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Process material receipts and related transactions in the applicable materials management system.
- Use digital platforms, including ERM, SiteSense, ImageConnect, SharePoint, and other project systems, to enter, retrieve, verify, and maintain materials information and supporting records.
- Collect, review, and follow up on packing slips, receiving documents, and other required records.
- Confirm that receiving information is complete and work with project teams, buyers, suppliers, or site materials personnel to resolve missing or unclear information.
- Maintain accurate electronic material records and attach supporting documents, including packing slips, material test reports, heat numbers, serial numbers, and other required documentation.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of preliminary and final material receiving reports.
- Assist with the investigation and documentation of receiving discrepancies, shortages, overages, or damaged material.
- Prepare or update routine materials documentation, including load lists, shipping records, issue records, trackers, and reports.
- Support invoice verification by locating and confirming receiving documentation when required.
- Perform other administrative and data-management tasks in support of Materials Management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business administration, supply chain, logistics, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Previous administrative, data-entry, warehouse, procurement, or materials experience is considered an asset, but is not required.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Excel.
- Experience with materials management, procurement, inventory, or enterprise resource planning systems is considered an asset.
- Strong digital aptitude and confidence learning and working across multiple systems and data sources.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including organizing, filtering, reviewing, and reconciling data; experience with formulas, lookups, or pivot tables is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Good organization, follow-up, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple routine priorities and work effectively with project and functional teams.
What Success Looks Like
- Material receipts and records are entered accurately and on time.
- Information is entered consistently across systems, and Excel-based trackers and reports are accurate, current, and usable by project teams.
- Missing documentation is identified and followed through to resolution.
- Electronic files are complete, organized, and easy for project teams to retrieve.
- The Home Office provides reliable administrative support to project and site Materials Management teams.
