We specialize in consulting, engineering, procurement and construction across the project lifecycle, with services extending through to operations and decommissioning. Leveraging extensive experience and AI-enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today's needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.

The Role

We are looking for Pipeline Engineers to join our Calgary team and apply their skills to challenging and diverse pipeline projects across Western Canada. This posting is suited to engineers with 0–10 years of experience, including Engineers-in-Training (EITs) and Professional Engineers (P.Engs), with opportunities to develop technically and take on increasing responsibility throughout their careers.

The successful candidate(s) will perform pipeline engineering design, calculations, consulting, and technical analysis, while contributing to the preparation and delivery of engineering work for pipeline projects. Depending on experience, the role may range from working under the guidance of senior engineers to independently executing engineering assignments with minimal supervision and mentoring juniors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pipeline engineering design and calculations for new construction, modification, and maintenance projects.
  • Perform assignments such as line sizing, hydraulics, crossing layouts, buoyancy calculations, alignment sheets, technical specifications, and related pipeline engineering activities.
  • Prepare and review pipeline engineering deliverables, including alignment sheets, crossing plans, and related pipeline facilities.
  • Provide engineering input to design and drafting activities and coordinate technical information with other disciplines.
  • Develop and review engineering calculations, technical documentation, material requisitions, and specifications.
  • Contribute to project cost estimates, schedules, and execution plans as appropriate to experience level.
  • Interface with project managers, engineers, designers, clients, vendors, and other disciplines throughout project execution.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are technically accurate, fit for purpose, and delivered in accordance with project scope, budget, schedule, quality requirements, and applicable standards.
  • Apply established engineering procedures and develop the ability to independently identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Support senior and lead engineers in the execution of larger and more complex projects.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, tools, and processes.
  • Assist in planning and implementing safety, loss control, and environmental programs.
  • Work within the provisions and guidelines of the applicable Quality Assurance system.
  • Maintain personal safety and safe work practices in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or related Engineering; a Master’s degree in Pipeline Engineering is an asset.
  • 0–10 years of relevant engineering experience, with responsibilities commensurate with experience level.
  • P.Eng. or Engineer-in-Training status or eligibility for registration with a Canadian engineering regulatory body.
  • Working knowledge of CSA Z662, with progressively deeper knowledge expected with experience.
  • Experience in pipeline engineering, oil and gas, energy infrastructure, EPC, or an owner/operator environment is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Organized, adaptable, results-oriented, and committed to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Commitment to safety and quality in all engineering activities.
