In Worley Canada East, you will report to the Manager of the Mechanical and Piping Engineering Department, and you will work on various minerals, mining, and metals projects with the rest of the project team and customers while upholding Worley’s standards for safety and technical excellence.

Self-motivated individuals with a desire to solve complex engineering problems, who show effective team leadership and communication skills will be ideally suitable for this role.

  • Evaluate and select appropriate sizes and specifications for mining, metals, and minerals processing equipment.
  • Ensure all designs and technical specifications meet industry regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
  • Deliver mechanical engineering services that meet Worley’s, its customers’, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to technical and value engineering studies.
  • Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and vendor drawings and data requirements (VDDR) for mechanical equipment.
  • Prepare project scopes of work and equipment RFQs (Requests for Quotation).
  • Perform technical bid evaluations leading to a recommendation and ultimate purchase of the equipment or selection of contractors.
  • Perform engineering calculations with regard to sizing the equipment.
  • Liaise, where needed, with suppliers during the purchase of equipment.
  • Be familiar with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Review shop drawings and attend inspections as required.

  • Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in mechanical engineering.
  • Stamp project deliverables (if required).
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical oversight to junior engineers and design teams.
  • Participate in regulatory audits, client meetings, and quality assurance activities.
  • Participate in risk assessments, design reviews, and constructability evaluations.
  • Multi-office work with project teams in other Worley offices may occur across different time zones, so working outside standard hours may be required.
  • Occasional field walkdowns in operating plants and construction sites with regard to project tasks may be required. This may require short land or air travel to other cities and countries for site visits and project coordination.
