Position Summary

The WSG SIMOPS Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing interfaces between WSG activities and concurrent project operations to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and without conflict. This role maintains the WSG SIMOPS Register, conducts ongoing 72-hour interface reviews, and works closely with project stakeholders to identify and mitigate operational conflicts before they impact safety, schedule, or productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate WSG activities with project stakeholders, including subcontractors, and the Project SIMOPS Authority.
  • Identify, assess, and manage conflicts arising from simultaneous operations.
  • Ensure potentially interfering activities are identified and mitigated before work execution.
  • Review work permits, schedules, construction sequencing, commissioning activities, and operational constraints to assess SIMOPS risks.
  • Participate in planning, coordination, and daily execution meetings.
  • Communicate SIMOPS restrictions, requirements, and mitigation measures to supervisors and field teams.
  • Monitor ongoing work activities to ensure compliance with approved SIMOPS controls.
  • Support permit-to-work and isolation planning processes where overlapping activities exist.
  • Escalate unresolved conflicts and high-risk interfaces to project leadership and the Project SIMOPS Authority.
  • Maintain accurate records of interface reviews, action items, risk mitigations, and approvals.
  • Work closely with construction, commissioning, operations, HSE, and quality teams to ensure safe execution of simultaneous activities.
  • Promote proactive communication and collaboration between all project stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Diploma, Degree, or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial construction, commissioning, operations, or project coordination roles.
  • Experience coordinating simultaneous operations on large industrial, LNG, energy, mining, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of permit-to-work systems, workface planning, and operational risk management.
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules, commissioning plans, and operational constraints.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve conflicting work scopes in a dynamic project environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and project tracking systems.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous SIMOPS coordination experience on major LNG or energy projects.
  • Experience working within multi-contractor environments.
  • Knowledge of commissioning, start-up, and operational readiness activities.
