Join our Power Delivery team and help design the transmission infrastructure that supports Canada's evolving energy future.
Our Power subsector, a key component of WSP's ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients across Canada with technical studies, project management, detailed design, and site services. As an
Intermediate Transmission Line Design Engineer, you'll contribute to the design and delivery of transmission projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
This opportunity can be based in
any of our Ontario or Quebec offices.
Your Impact
- Design overhead transmission line projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV, supporting safe and reliable power infrastructure.
- Prepare and review engineering deliverables, including plan and profile drawings, material selections, and construction specifications.
- Support route selection, line and structure spotting, structural analysis, foundation design, and development of construction bid packages.
- Coordinate with engineers, drafters, designers, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams to keep deliverables moving efficiently.
- Manage assigned project schedules, budgets, status reporting, and technical deliverables.
- Facilitate QA/QC reviews to support consistent, high-quality engineering work.
- Build productive client relationships while participating in project meetings and communicating technical requirements.
- Contribute to resource planning, business improvement initiatives, and the continued growth of the Power Delivery team.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least three years of transmission design experience, including overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines.
- P.Eng. licence or near completion.
- Hands-on experience with PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, and FAD Tools software packages.
- Experience within the electric utility industry, including transmission line routing and design.
- Experience with transmission structure foundation, loading, and structural design.
- Transmission design experience up to 230kV, with distribution design experience considered valuable.
- Experience supporting cost estimating, scheduling, technical coordination, and multidisciplinary project delivery.

Compensation
For
Grade 5, Tier 2, the primary pay transparency dataset specifies:
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $77,400–102,500
MB & ON: $70,,600–97,200
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $69,900–92,900
