Your Impact

  • Apply toxicology and risk assessment principles to contaminated-sites investigations, environmental assessments, and other environmental projects.
  • Collaborate with senior professionals to understand project objectives and deliver clear, defensible technical contributions.
  • Research scientific literature, extract relevant information, and translate findings into technical reports and other written deliverables.
  • Analyze environmental datasets using statistical tools and prepare effective data visualizations.
  • Construct and apply models supporting human health and ecological risk calculations.
  • Complete quality assurance and quality control reviews of data, calculations, and finished work products.
  • Support environmental field programs involving water, sediment, soil, and biological sampling in a variety of settings across Western Canada.
  • Contribute your ideas and developing expertise to multidisciplinary teams addressing complex environmental challenges.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • A bachelor’s degree in Toxicology, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field; a master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Eligibility for professional registration as a Registered Professional Biologist or Biologist in Training with the College of Applied Biologists of British Columbia, or eligibility with another applicable professional regulatory body.
  • Foundational knowledge of terrestrial or aquatic toxicology, human health toxicology, environmental risk assessment, or a related discipline.

  • Experience with statistical analysis software such as R, SPSS, or SigmaPlot, together with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong technical writing, data-review, and attention-to-detail skills, with an interest in continuous learning.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety, willingness to travel, and readiness to participate in occasional environmental field programs.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a clean driver’s abstract; familiarity with environmental sampling methods is considered an asset.
