Play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality construction projects that shape communities and infrastructure across Canada. As an Assistant Technician, Construction, you'll support construction inspection, materials testing, and field activities while gaining hands-on experience alongside industry-leading professionals. Your Impact
- Support field technicians and project teams with construction inspection and materials testing activities.
- Conduct sampling and testing of construction materials in accordance with established standards and procedures.
- Assist with documenting field observations, measurements, and test results to support project quality requirements.
- Monitor construction activities to help ensure compliance with project specifications and safety requirements.
- Coordinate equipment, materials, and site logistics to support efficient project delivery.
- Contribute to accurate reporting and data collection that informs project decisions and client outcomes.
- Build strong working relationships with contractors, colleagues, and clients while representing WSP professionally.
- Continuously develop technical knowledge and practical skills through on-the-job learning and mentorship.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Diploma or technical education in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in construction, materials testing, field inspection, or related technical environments is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregate testing procedures is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality results.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather, construction, and field conditions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to complete accurate documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $26.50 – $35.20
MB & ON: $24.20 – $33.40
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $24.00 – $31.80
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
