In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in the construction industry and have the opportunity to grow your career. This position is both mentally and physically rewarding, offering new challenges every day.

At Xradar, we believe that achieving excellence and enjoying a healthy work/life balance go hand-in-hand. If you’re ready to start a career where no two days are the same, we’d love to hear from you!

As an Xradar Concrete Scanning/Coring Technician Trainee, your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

Using GPR technology to locate and map post-tension cables, rebar, and electrical conduits in concrete structures.
Performing drilling and coring to create holes and openings in concrete.
Participating in fieldwork, gaining exposure to a wide range of construction projects across the city.
Preparing job sites, setting up equipment, and performing clean-up and maintenance of tools.
Completing job summary reports for client review.
Assisting with concrete engineering surveys and developing technical skills.
Interpreting technical marks in concrete slabs to guide drilling and coring accurately.
Ensuring site safety by following strict health and safety protocols.
Transporting and maintaining equipment using company vehicles, including logging related activity.
Expanding project management and business development skills while working full-time in the role.
Willingness to receive training in Calgary (weeks to months) and occasional training in Vancouver.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.

On your resume, we will be looking for the following:

Minimum of 1 year experience in a labour or construction role.
Solid understanding of construction safety standards and procedures.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license (required for company vehicle use).
Reliable, detail-oriented, and solution-focused mindset.
Experience working in varied job site conditions is an asset.
Self-starter with motivation to develop skills in business development and project management.

During The Interview Process, We Will Be Looking For:

How you demonstrate our shared value set of excellence (pushing yourself to be the very best), innovation (your ability to try new things and be okay with failing), community (how you give to your community, either micro or macro) and honesty (how you own your mistakes, even if it might mean you don’t always look as good as you hoped!)
Exceptional interpersonal skills: your ability to communicate to all levels of an organization with a positive, proactive attitude. This includes understanding how to read a room and meet the needs of the team!
Examples of excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills through asking good questions and completing solid analysis
Examples of your ability to work independently and autonomously, as well as collaboratively across several teams
Knowledge or interest in learning concrete construction methods, project management and interest in business development

Why Xradar?
