Fredericton, New Brunswick

York Care Centre (YCC) is seeking an experienced, values-driven leader to serve as its next President & CEO, following the upcoming retirement of the current CEO. YCC is a not-for-profit long-term care organization providing 218 long-term care beds alongside a 31-unit assisted living, 72 independent living apartments, and an Adult Day Program for seniors living with dementia. The York Care group of companies includes York Care Centre, York County Properties Inc., York Developments Inc., and the Centre for Innovation and Research on Aging.

With an operating budget of $30M+, over 300 employees, and 50 volunteers, YCC is a cornerstone of aging care in the region and is currently executing an ambitious 2025–2030 Strategic Plan built around three pillars: Residence of Choice, Employer of Choice, and Centre of Excellence.

About the role

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO provides inspirational leadership across the organization, champions a culture of excellence, and is accountable for quality resident care, sound financial management, and regulatory compliance. This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-governed, mission-driven organization through a planned leadership transition and into its next chapter of innovation and growth, while building strong relationships with partner organizations, academic institutions, government, and the broader long-term care sector.

  • Lead a continuous quality improvement culture and drive excellence in care and service
  • Build and mentor a strong senior leadership team, with a focus on succession and staff engagement
  • Serve as the organization's key public voice and advocate within the sector
  • Champion research, innovation, and partnerships that advance aging care
  • Steward financial and enterprise risk management with rigour and transparency

What you bring

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant management experience in health care or long-term care, including 5+ years at a senior level
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field (business, public, or health administration), or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Deep understanding of the health and social services system and applicable legislation
  • Strong governance experience working with a Board of Directors
  • Proven financial acumen, labour relations knowledge, and team-building skills
  • A genuine passion for improving the lives of seniors and the people who care for them

If you are interested

If you're a strategic, people-centred leader ready to guide a respected long-term care organization into its next era, we'd love to hear from you.
