Senior SAP Data Integration & Solution Architect
Location: Toronto, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, or Waterloo, ON
Work Arrangement: Onsite, 5 days/week
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: Long-term contract starts as 6 months, with potential extensions
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior SAP Data Integration & Solution Architect to lead technical discovery, assess existing SAP environments, and design enterprise data integration solutions connecting SAP systems with modern cloud data platforms, including Microsoft Fabric.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in SAP BW, SAP BODS, and enterprise data architecture, along with the ability to independently drive architectural assessments and solution design.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess existing SAP BW/BW4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP ERP, and data integration environments.
- Analyze SAP data extraction methods, BODS integrations, data flows, and dependencies.
- Lead technical discovery sessions with SAP architects, business stakeholders, and enterprise Data teams.
- Design scalable SAP data integration solutions for Microsoft Fabric and other cloud platforms.
- Evaluate ETL/ELT, replication, virtualization, and API-based integration approaches.
- Develop current-state and target-state architecture diagrams, technical designs, and implementation recommendations.
- Identify integration challenges, technical risks, and modernization opportunities.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise data integration, architecture, or related technical roles.
- Strong experience with SAP BW/BW4HANA, SAP HANA, and SAP BODS (BusinessObjects Data Services).
- Expertise in SAP data extraction, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and integration architecture.
- Proven experience in technical discovery, architecture assessments, and solution design.
- Strong SQL, data modelling, data transformation, and data quality knowledge.
- Experience integrating SAP with cloud-based enterprise data platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory).
- Azure Data Services and Power BI.
- SAP Datasphere, ODP, Open ODS Views, or HANA Smart Data Access.
- SAP financial data integration and reporting experience.
- TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification.
