Purpose:

Ancillary Services provides a wide range of professionally managed campus services and amenities to enhance the student experience and support York University's mission, vision and priorities. With a commitment to sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion, Ancillary Services works with internal and external partners to provide exceptional experiences and enhance the quality of campus life in alignment with the University's core values. Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Off-Campus Housing, the Outreach Coordinator provides support in the development and implementation of marketing initiatives to improve the recruitment and retention of students in York Housing, as well as the promotion of the Accommodation and Conference Services (ACS) operations to internal and external communities. The role ensures the implementation of consistent and coordinated marketing messages that align with the department strategies and objectives intended to increase housing occupancy, improve student experience, and attract clients to the accommodation and conference services portfolio. Through the use of current social and digital media technologies and trends, the role will enhance and maintain York's student housing presence online and update information throughout all aspects of the annual housing intake cycle, while also promoting accommodation and conference services to a broader audience.

Education:

College Diploma in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing or Social Media Marketing or an equivalent of 2 years' recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience:

Two years' recent related experience in marketing. Experience producing content across a range of social and digital media for marketing purposes including experience working with databases (such as StarRez). Experience operating a digital camera and configuring LCD/LED screens for video display.

Skills:

Effective communication skills.
Effective marketing skills, including the ability to create high quality documents for print or display on-screen.
Effective attention to detail, including accurate proofreading and cross-referencing skills.
Effective interpersonal skills to deal courteously and effectively with people.
Ability to display good judgement and initiative.
Effective planning, organizational and time management skills to cope with conflicting deadlines, multiple tasks, projects and events occurring within short and overlapping time periods.
Effective analytical skills, including the ability to collect and analyze data and prepare reports for various audiences, in a variety of formats.
Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to use digital media software for producing/editing videos, such as Adobe Premium Pro, Photoshop.
Ability to use content management software for editing and designing websites, such as WordPress, Canva, Contribute.
Analytical skills to navigate through social media platforms.
