Purpose:
Ancillary Services provides a wide range of professionally managed campus services and amenities to enhance the student experience and support York University's mission, vision and priorities. Accountable for oversight of the revenue generated through the sale of monthly / daily parking permits and for oversight of administrative functions, providing effective management and supervision of the parking administration functions at the Keele and Glendon Campuses. Works in close partnership with the Director to determine operational priorities, manages the day-to-day activities of the administrative and/or technical staff, and is aligned to the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the University. The Parking Administration Supervisor supports York's commitment to sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion.
Education:
- Post-secondary diploma.
- This position requires the candidate to obtain and maintain a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer license, including a background check by Toronto Police Services.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of related experience, including 1 year of management / supervisory experience.
Skills:
Knowledge
- Knowledge of parking technologies, processes, best practices and municipal licensing regulations specific to parking enforcement
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, standards and practices.
- Knowledge of HR processes and programs including staff recruitment, employment standards, return to work for work and/or non-work-related injuries, Employee Assistance Programs and other benefits.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Good planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload and meet timelines.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to develop and/or lead cohesive teams and manage performance and productivity.
- Ability to provide excellent service to the community and deal courteously and effectively with people at all levels.
- Adaptability to change, new ideas and practices.
- Good problem identification and excellent conflict resolution skills.
Additional Notes:
- Works within a typical office environment (actual and/or virtual).
- Occasional travel may be required to on-campus locations.
- Occasional travel may be required to the Glendon campus.
- Note: Position requires verification of degree(s)/credential(s).

*Compensation: York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award. Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
