POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Residential Programs, the Manager provides leadership and accountability for the delivery, quality, outcomes, evaluation, standards and ongoing development of all CS&R programs. The Manager provides overall supervision, coaching and development of CS&R staff, leads recruitment, orientation, scheduling and performance management, and provides leadership in complex resident concerns, service decisions and high-risk situations. The Manager monitors resident experience and program outcomes, identifies opportunities for improvement, and contributes to budget monitoring, resource planning and grant development. The Manager acts as Director of Residential Programs in the Director’s absence.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Leadership: Provide overall leadership and accountability for the design, implementation, quality, outcomes, evaluation and ongoing development of all CS&R programs.
People Leadership: Provide overall people leadership, supervision and support to CS&R staff to ensure effective and consistent program delivery.
Resident Services & Support: Provide leadership and consultation regarding complex resident concerns, service decisions and situations requiring management intervention.
Human Resources & Staff Support: Support effective staffing and employee relations by contributing to recruitment, staff development, performance management, and HR practices while fostering staff wellness, accountability, and a positive team culture.
Assume Acting Management role in the absence of the Director
Represent the YWCA and CS&R on committees as requested
Monitor Budgets, Financial Position & Program Resources within the CS&R: Support effective financial and resource management by monitoring budgets, identifying emerging needs and funding opportunities, and providing recommendations to ensure programs are adequately resourced, sustainable, and aligned with expected outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent combination of training and experience;
Experience in shelter management or leadership is strongly preferred, with frontline shelter experience considered an asset;
Familiarity and commitment to women’s issues;
Knowledge of fundamental human resource management systems;
Experience leading diverse and dynamic teams in a fast-paced environment;
Ability to facilitate consensus and manage conflict;
Strong organizational skills;
Superior communication skills;
Familiarity with a unionized work environment would be beneficial;
An understanding of, and commitment to, the philosophies of YWCA Saskatoon.
