ServiceNow SAM Developer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a ServiceNow SAM Developer to support a federal organization focused on modernizing IT Service Management (ITSM), Software Asset Management (SAM), and Enterprise Service Management capabilities within the defense sector. This position is hybrid at Joint Base Andrews, MD. The ServiceNow SAM Developer will design, develop, and implement ServiceNow SAM and ITAM solutions that automate workflows, improve software compliance, and enhance enterprise asset visibility. This role directly supports mission-critical operations by delivering secure, scalable technology solutions that improve operational readiness and efficiency.

Responsibilities for the ServiceNow SAM Developer include:

  • Design, configure, and maintain ServiceNow SAM Pro, SaaS Management, HAM Pro, and related ITAM solutions.
  • Develop and customize ServiceNow applications, workflows, integrations, and automations using Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, JavaScript, and Glide APIs.
  • Implement software license management, entitlement tracking, normalization rules, and automated compliance reconciliation processes.
  • Build and maintain integrations with discovery tools, procurement systems, vendor platforms, and other enterprise applications.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and analytics to provide visibility into software compliance, asset utilization, and lifecycle management.

Required Qualifications for the ServiceNow SAM Developer include:

  • 4+ years of ServiceNow development experience with platform customization, scripting, and integrations.
  • Experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro, ITAM, HAM, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, JavaScript, Glide APIs, HTML, XML, and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Strong understanding of software asset management, license compliance, data imports, transform maps, troubleshooting, and platform governance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, IT, or related field (additional relevant experience may be substituted for education requirements).
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification required.

Compensation for the ServiceNow SAM Developer include:

Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000 depending on experience
