About Zaddons
At Zaddons, we give managers and schedulers a beeline to productivity with scheduling and bidding solutions that optimize complex processes. Our passion for innovation, technology, and efficiency fuels our relentless drive to solve irritating and time-wasting HR platform challenges. Through our network of solution, implementation, and service partners, we boost scheduling power by eradicating platform limitations.
Choosing Zaddons means joining a team where your values, your ideas and your talent help grow an innovative company.
About the Role
The Financial Analyst will play a central role in Zaddons’ finance function, with responsibility across month-end close, cash operations, statutory filings, innovation funding claims and management reporting. Reporting to the Vice President – Finance, you will join as the second member of the finance team, with significant ownership over your areas of responsibility.
Over the past eighteen months, Zaddons has completed a Series A financing, raised additional debt financing, secured AI innovation funding, restructured and refinanced loans, and completed its first full audit engagement, alongside the day-to-day financial operations of a growing company. As Zaddons enters its next stage of growth, with new funding programs, strategic partnerships and corporate development opportunities ahead, we are expanding the finance function to support that increased scale and complexity.
This is an opportunity to join at a stage where you can have a meaningful influence on how the finance function evolves. You will take ownership of established responsibilities while helping formalize processes, strengthen reporting and build the tools and documentation that will support the company as it grows.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Month-end close and accounting records
- Owning the month-end and year-end close calendar and ensuring timely completion;
- Preparing bank, credit card and loan reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations with audit-ready support;
- Maintaining deferred revenue, prepaid and accrual schedules, and applying revenue recognition as it relates to a SaaS company;
- Maintaining the chart of accounts and the cost of revenue versus operating expense classification that management reporting depends on.
Cash operations: billing, receivables, payables and expenses
- Producing customer invoicing on the SaaS billing cycle, including seat and usage true-ups;
- Managing accounts receivable aging, dunning and collections;
- Managing accounts payable intake, coding, approval routing and payment runs, including international supplier payments;
- Reviewing employee expense reimbursements and corporate card activity against policy.
Payroll, commissions and employee compliance
- Running the full payroll cycle, including new hires, departures, salary changes, vacation accruals and taxable benefits;
- Preparing year-end T4, RL-1 and summary reconciliations;
- Calculating sales commissions against plan;
- Managing CNESST and workforce declarations.
Taxation and statutory compliance
- Preparing and filing GST/HST and QST returns and related reconciliations;
- Remitting source deductions to the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Québec;
- Maintaining provincial registrations and monitoring cross-border tax exposure;
- Preparing working papers for T2 and CO-17 with our external tax advisors;
- Maintaining a comprehensive compliance calendar to ensure all recurring obligations are tracked and completed on time.
Innovation funding administration
- Maintaining the time tracking and direct labour records on innovation tax credits and grants;
- Tracking committed versus actual spend by funded workstream and proactively identifying material variances;
- Preparing claim support packages and program progress reports;
- Applying program stacking rules correctly and maintaining the audit trail for each program.
Financial planning and management reporting
- Producing monthly forecast versus actual reporting with written variance explanations a non-finance executive can act on;
- Preparing the finance sections of the quarterly board package;
- Tracking EBITDA, burn, gross margin, MRR and ARR movements, customer acquisition cost payback and lifetime value.
Audit, lender and covenant reporting
- Owning the audit preparation file and acting as day-to-day contact for our external auditors;
- Preparing covenant calculations and lender reporting packages on schedule;
- Maintaining the data room to support efficient future financing activities and build on prior work.
Systems, automation and documentation
- Documenting every recurring process once, and automating it where it can be automated;
- Participating in the evaluation and implementation of finance systems as we scale;
- Using artificial intelligence tooling as a normal part of the finance workflow;
- Carrying out and participating in special projects, and other related tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance;
- CPA designation, or current CPA candidate;
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, including hands-on ownership of a full month-end close;
- Working knowledge of ASPE or IFRS;

- Knowledge of the specificities of the technology and/or SaaS sectors (strong asset);
- Communication skills in French and English, both oral and written. Professional proficiency in English is required due to the need to regularly communicate with financial institutions, investors, business partners and other external stakeholders located primarily outside Quebec, and to review and work with financial, contractual and technical documentation and tools available primarily in English;
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft 365 suite;
- Experience using business intelligence software (Power BI or other);
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Employeur D, Clockify, Float Financial and Wise, or the ability to become proficient quickly;

Interpersonal and Professional Skills
- A strong sense of ownership and initiative, with the ability to identify what needs attention and follow it through to completion;

- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through appropriate automation and process enhancements.
Career Development
Zaddons offers the opportunity to join a dynamic, collaborative team in a growing company where people have meaningful visibility and impact. As the business continues to evolve, so do the roles within it, creating opportunities to broaden your responsibilities and grow alongside the organization.
Your development will extend beyond day-to-day finance operations. Over time, you will have the opportunity to deepen your experience in areas such as financial systems and automation, FP&A in a SaaS environment, innovation funding, debt financing and other corporate finance activities.
For the right person, and as the company continues to grow, this role may provide a path toward a future Director of Finance position. Progression will be based on performance, demonstrated capabilities and the evolving needs of the organization.
